I’m Anna Zeide, a faculty member in the History Department at Oklahoma State University.
I study the history of food, environment, consumerism, and justice. My first book focused on the history of canned food, to understand the deepest roots of the American food industry: Canned: The Rise and Fall of Consumer Confidence in the American Food Industry (California Studies in Food and Culture, University of California Press, 2018). You can check it out on Amazon, or the UC Press page. And it won the 2019 James Beard Award for Reference, History, and Scholarship! Read more about Canned.
